  • A cosy café with exposed brick, green panelling, small oak tables and fairy lights
  • A smiling server bringing a bowl of pasta to two diners holding glasses of red wine
  • Long, glossy, softly waved honey-blonde hair seen from behind in a pink salon
  • A sage green alcove cupboard with oak shelves of books and pottery beside a fireplace

Ripe red coffee cherries on a coffee plant in the misty Ethiopian highlands at sunrise

Where did coffee actually come from?

It's a longer journey than you'd think.

Image 1 of 5

Coffee's story starts with wild plants in the Ethiopian highlands, long before anyone steamed milk. By the 1400s it was being brewed in Yemen, and the port of Mocha gave its name to a drink we still order today. When coffee houses reached England in the 1650s, people called them penny universities: a penny for a cup, and the conversation came free. Save this for your next coffee break.

BusierCo

Why we exist

You run the business. Posting slips down the list.

Customers, staff, stock and suppliers all come first. Social media becomes the job you'll do later, then the feed goes quiet and people nearby see less of you.

BusierCo plans, designs and writes your posts, so your business keeps showing up even on your busiest weeks.

Example Architects

Example post · Architect

A calm living room with tall windows, pale lime-washed walls and soft late-afternoon light falling across oak floorboards

Why does one room instantly feel better than another?

It's rarely the furniture.

Image 1 of 5

Next time you walk into a room you love, stop and ask why. Is the light coming from more than one side? Can you see through to somewhere else? Are the materials warm to the touch? Those decisions are made on paper long before anyone lays a brick, and they're the difference between a space you use and a space you enjoy. Save this for your next house viewing.

BusierCo

Why it works

Don't just promote your business. Give people a reason to follow it.

Offers and opening hours have their place. What makes people stop, swipe and save is something worth knowing: where coffee came from, why a room feels calm, why profit isn't the same as cash.

We turn what you already know about your trade into stories, explainers and myth-busters, so your feed is useful even to people who aren't ready to buy yet.

Example Accountants

Example post · Accountant

Revenue is everything you've sold. Profit is what's left once the costs of running the business are paid. A business can grow its sales and still make less money, which is why it pays to watch both.

Example Law

Example post · Solicitor

What actually happens after you contact a solicitor?

If you've never done it, here's the usual path.

Image 1 of 5

If you've never used a solicitor, getting in touch can feel like a big step. Usually it starts with a conversation: what's happened, what you'd like to happen and whether there are any deadlines. Before advising, a firm will normally confirm your identity and check there's no conflict of interest, which is why you may be asked for ID early on. General information, not legal advice.

Monday

  • 09:00 · Graphic post · Myth or fact

Myth: espresso is a type of coffee bean. Fact: it's a way of brewing. Hot water is pushed through finely ground coffee under pressure, so almost any bean can become an espresso.
